What are the requirements to participate in the NTC Summer Academy?

The NTC Summer Academy is open to rising high school seniors who maintain above a 3.2 GPA. If you are a younger student, please check out our Pre-College Programs at summer@tulane.edu.

How do I apply?

Students can apply through our online application! The application will open in the spring, and we will require the following: A copy of your transcript (official or unofficial), a recommendation letter from your college counselor, and you have the option to submit a second recommendation and any relevant coursework. Students will apply to specific courses.

How many classes do I need to take in the NTC Summer Academy?

NTC Summer Academy students are able to earn a maximum of 8 credit hours, which is no more than two courses.

How do I drop a class?

Please consult the summer calendar before your drop your course. This is where you will find drop dates and their corresponding refunds. Once you have made the decision to drop, please contact the Summer School office. A staff member will assist you from there.

How many sessions are offered within the NTC Summer Academy?

There are two 5- week sessions within the NTC Summer Academy: Early Summer and Late Summer. Students can choose to take courses in one of the sessions or both.

What does it cost to attend classes in the NTC Summer Academy?

Tuition is $1,141 per credit hour. For additional fees, please visit our Tuition and Fees page.

What is included with tuition?

Course registration and access to academic facilities, including libraries and laboratories, are included with tuition. Course fees, supplies and textbooks are assessed separately. Housing, dining services and membership to the Reily Recreation Center are available for an additional cost. Some special programs may include room and board in the cost of the program.

Are there any fees for summer classes?

Fees are dependent on the course selection, as students may be charged a laboratory or other supplemental fees per course. These fees are calculated to cover the costs of materials and supplies used in the course and are established by the department faculty offering the course. Any applicable course fees are listed on the Schedule of Classes.

How do I pay tuition and fees?

Students must log in to Gibson Online to view bills and current activity, make payments, authorize others to have access, or to request paper statements if required. Contact Accounts Receivable with any questions you may have about your statement at acctrec@tulane.edu, (504) 865-5368 or toll free (800) 798-7633.

When is the due date to pay summer tuition and fees?

Charges will appear on your student account within a month of your . Payments are due by the last business day in the following calendar month unless otherwise noted. Late fees will apply after this date. New tuition and fees charges, or adjustments, may be added on a daily basis based on registration during the add/drop period after semester billing has begun.

Is financial aid for NTC Summer Academy available?

Unfortunately we do not have any financial aid available for the NTC Summer Academy. 

Is housing available in the summer?

NTC Summer Academy 2021 is virtual, so housing will be unavailable. 

Can I purchase a meal plan for the Summer term?

Wavebuck$ and Nolabuck$ are available for purchase in the summer and can be used on Tulane’s campus, at Loyola and at participating restaurants and providers off-campus. A complete list of options and instructions for purchasing Wavebuck$ and Nolabuck$ are available on the Dining Services website.

I'm an employee of Tulane University; can my student participate in the NTC Summer Academy?

Yes! Your student will need to fill out their application, and be sure to submit the Tuition Waiver through the HR website.

How do I request an official transcript once I finish my summer classes?

The Tulane University Registrar's Office maintains the official records & transcripts for Tulane University. NTC Summer Academy alumni may order electronic and/or mailed transcripts through the Order a Transcript page on the registrar's website. 

What is the university's policy regarding participants with disabilities?

It is our goal to offer a universally accessible program. If you anticipate needing any type of reasonable accommodation or have questions about campus accessibility, please contact us a summerschool@tulane.edu in advance of your participation.

Current Tulane Students

I have been accepted into Tulane for the fall semester, can I participate in the NTC Summer Academy?

As you have already been admitted into Tulane, you may register for a summer class. Please contact your advisor to begin your registration process, and if you do not know who your advisor is yet, email advising@tulane.edu

Can I participate in the NTC Summer Academy as a Spring Scholar?

If you are a Spring Scholar, please complete the Visiting Student Application.
